Topfree / Topless – Check out articles and blogs about women and girls going topless, topfreedom and gender equality, topfree events and topless related news and stories.

The word “topless” is the more familiar term to refer to a woman being barechested, but the word is very gendered and has certain sexual connotations to it. So we have the term “topfree” or “topfreedom” to have the same meaning in a more neutral / positive word. It also infers being free of something, rather than lacking with the suffix “-less.”

Why Nude Bathing Is Better Than Bathing Suits

Why Society Is Better Off Swimming Nude Without Bathing Suits I’m not one of those nudies that feels compelled to be naked 24 / 7, and I would say that many nudists can’t be and don’t care to be naked everywhere, all the time. (I’ve mentioned this before in the common myths about nudism.) I’m quite comfortable wearing clothes in the winter. I get cold very easily and am grateful for the sweaters I have to keep me warm. Though I’m not much into fashion or clothes shopping, I do like dressing up sometimes and expressing myself with certain colors, fabrics ... Read more

Topless Laws and Topfreedom in New York State

NY Laws On Topfreedom, False Arrests and Topfree Equality in NYC Like many U.S. anti-nudity laws, New York’s “Exposure of a person” law — Penal Code 245.01 — includes the female nipple when describing body parts that aren’t allowed to be shown / exposed in public. Free the Nipple and the Fallacy of Relative Privation

Free the Nipple & Why we’re talking about nipples when there are way bigger problems in society In the spring 2015 issue of Bitch magazine (a feminist publication), there’s a review of the Free the Nipple movie. Like many other reviews of this film, it questioned some implausible plot points and “bad writing.” But that’s not all. The author of the article, A.A.I., starts off by dismissing Free the Nipple as a cause worthy of our attention. She wrote that while she found it “totally unreasonable” that women can’t go topfree wherever men can, “…it’s unfortunate that Lina Esco’s directorial ... Read more
